Artist’s Statement:
I began pottery as a retirement vocation in 2019 after a career in electronic graphics. For the first 3-4 years, most of my work was wheel-thrown functional ware. After three spine surgeries in 2022, I was forced into hand-building, and developed a love for that. I’ve always enjoyed making people smile, so much of my work is whimsical and perhaps a bit odd-looking. If I am having fun in studio, it usually shows in the result. I still do mugs and a few other functional pieces for inventory stock (have clients who love and collect my non-standard mugs) but I am always striving for new original pieces that are just “fun.”
