Artist’s Statement:
I have always enjoyed creative pursuits including drawing, pastels, watercolors, leather working, acrylics, quilting, and felting. When I’m drawing animals with pencils, I’m transported to a place of calm where each stroke and tiny mark brings the majesty of an animal to life. Having been an avid hiker for many years, I was always drawn to the beauty of nature and the interconnection of its parts. My colored pencil art focuses on wild animals and their interactions with their environment, as captured from trail cams in the upper Midwest. My goal with my art is to share the magnificence of wild animals around us with my viewers, ultimately to depict each animal in that environment.
