Primarily a self-taught artist, Patty has nevertheless trained with many fine artists and art teachers. Many of them were located in the Brandywine Valley region of Pennsylvania – home to the Wyeth family and an area with a robust arts culture – where she lived for many years. Her watercolors are inspired by the loose and fluid nature of the medium; she clearly enjoys the play of color and water as they mix. Brilliant acrylics are an exciting challenge and Patty has also studied drypoint etching, oils, the use of alcohol inks and pastel. In addition to her fine art work and real estate career, Patty is a co-founder of Healing Art Works, a woman-owned non-profit that brings original artwork into patient spaces in hospitals. Most recently, Patty became a Board member of the Travelers Rest Artists Alliance after her move to the Upstate in South Carolina and she is a founding member of the White Rabbit Fine Arts Gallery in Travelers Rest.
