Almost any time you stop by the White Rabbit, you will likely see our favorite Jersey girl, Candace Underwood. She is so much more than a docent. If we were a scout troop she would be our den mother. She knows everybody’s name , and their artwork. She knows where everything is and when everything is due. Candace is a source of encouragement and great ideas for all.
Two days after retiring from a career in the business world Candace was in my Acrylic painting class in the OLLI program at Furman. It was her first-ever art class. She immersed herself in the study of painting, taking classes in acrylic painting, watercolor painting, and oil painting. As an art teacher since 1971, I have never seen anyone so immersed in the study of art.
Candace is particularly interested in the White Rabbit Fine Art Gallery’s commitment to involving our community in the arts. She has great ideas and will be delighted to show you around the gallery and chat about all the plans for community involvement. Watch this blog for a follow up chat on our community involvement and check out Candace and her paintings.
